The internet is a great way to communicate on a daily basis, but nothing can substitute for meeting in person. So the Houston Image is organizing a number of different chance to get together.
WorkshopsWhy should you have to travel to another city or state to attend a world class photography workshop, when you live in the fourth largest city in the US? The Houston Image will be organizing workshops in the Houston area. Our goal is to have small ones once a quarter. Stay tuned for more details. And models we haven't forgotten you either. We're looking into planning modeling workshops as well.
Meet and GreetsEvery six months our admins Rob and Kathy of R & J Photography put together a Houston Image Meet and Greet. These events happen at an Houston area restaurant and everyone is welcome. Photographers bring your business cards and portfolios. Models bring your portfolio and meet the people you see online. This is a great time to put faces to usernames and make new friends.
BYOM: Bring Your Own ModelBYOM is a group shoot, where the price of admission for a photographer is they must bring a model. Then all of the photographers get the chance to shoot with all the models. This keeps models from having to deal with a bunch of photographers at the same time because the ratio is 1 to 1. It has been a while since the last Bring Your Own Model event, but we plan on having one twice a year going forward. Friend's WorkshopsWe're not the only ones offering great photographic experiences.
